Meet the Staff

Mary Rose
Registered Dental Hygienist
Mary Rose has been a registered dental hygienist since 1981. She brings over 20 years experience in periodontal and general dentistry to the pediatric, adolescent, and special needs population that she serves. Mary Rose is responsible for patient education, medical history review, scaling, polishing, fluoride treatments, and radiographs. Her experience enables her to help even the most apprehensive patients feel at ease and build up their confidence to be able to complete whatever treatment may be indicated. Mary Rose takes continuing education courses on a regular basis regarding current concepts in dentistry as well as medical issues relevant to the general health of her patients.
Mary Rose is also a classically trained professional artist working in various genres. She is primarily an oil painter with a concentration in portrait and still life. She also paints landscapes en plein air throughout New England and has been the recipient of many awards. She is a juried member of both the Rockport Art Association, and the North Shore Art Association of Cape Ann. Mary Rose is also an active member of the Oil Painters of America, the Portrait Society of America, the Whistler House Museum (Lowell Art Association), and an associate member of the Guild of Boston Artists.
Carolyn
Office Manager
Carolyn has been with Dr. Demetriou since January of 1990. She started part-time as the patient greeter, and once she graduated college she became responsible for insurance billing, patient communications, scheduling and treatment planning. She has been the office manager since 1998 and currently handles all the day-to-day operations and oversees the responsibilities and duties of all the office personnel so that the office runs smoothly and efficiently. Carolyn loves watching the children grow and their personalities develop. She also enjoys working with parents to help them understand and interpret treatment and insurance so that they can make the best possible dental decisions for their child and their family.
Carolyn has been married to her husband, Ken, since 2003. They have a beautiful daughter, Isabella, who was born in 2008. In her free time, Carolyn enjoys spending time with her family and exploring the world through the eyes of her daughter.
Kathy
Dental Assistant
Kathy has worked with Dr. Steve for over 20 years, assisting him and our hygienists as needed, taking X-rays, giving fluoride treatments, and polishing teeth. She loves interacting with kids and having fun with them. It is her goal to explain everything so it is easy to understand to make each child’s visit as comfortable as possible. Kathy enjoys the time she has spent working with Dr. Steve because he takes tremendous pride in keeping our patients’ teeth healthy. Everyone on our team is dedicated to providing the best care possible.
I have a sister named Elizabeth and Dr. Steve is my cousin! When I’m not in the office I enjoy going to the beach, watching movies, and eating out at delicious restaurants. I’m also known as the "Hostess with the Mostess"!
Sandra
Reception Coordinator
Sandra is responsible for patient check in, pulling charts, scheduling appointments, and whatever it takes to make our office run as smoothly as possible. She is always happy to help as no job is too big or too small. As the first person our patients meet when they come into the office, Sandra always makes sure to have a friendly smile on her face. She wants each patient’s visit to be a pleasant one and loves to hear that a child had a great time in our office.
Sandra has been happily married for 27 years. She has two grown children, three lovely grandchildren, and a very friendly cat. She spends her free time with her family, reading, taking long walks, doing volunteer work in the community, and cooking for friends.
Michele
Dental Assistant
Michele assists our dental hygienist with routine cleaning appointments, taking X-rays, polishing teeth, and assisting Dr. Steve as needed. She believes that first impressions are important, so Michele always greets our patients with a nice, bright smile. She wants them to feel comfortable in the office and loves to chat about whatever is going on in their lives. As a mother of two, Michele understands how important it is to keep up with routine dental care. It gives her great pleasure to hear that a patient was actually excited to come to the dentist!
Michele and her husband, Steven, have two children, Damien and Domenic. In her free time, Michele enjoys traveling, dining out, shopping, going to the movies, and keeping up with her one year-old.
Nicole
Registered Dental Hygienist
Nicole performs preventive cleanings and gives our patients all the instruction, education, and counseling they’ll need to keep their smiles healthy and beautiful for the rest of their lives. She loves to talk to and get to know each one of her patients. For Nicole, it is very important for her to make a connection with each patient so they feel comfortable and trust her, and that is especially important with children. Nicole loves that she gets to meet new people every day and see the result of an effective cleaning. She also truly appreciates Dr. Steve’s level of care as he has been her dentist since she was five years old!
Nicole enjoys spending time with her family, including her cat named Salem and her dog, Alli. She likes going to the beach with friends, camping, fishing, and attending concerts.
Rachel
Dental Assistant
Rachel assists Dr. Steve in procedures, setting up and cleaning up operatories, taking X-rays, and clerical duties. She has been with our team for over a decade and feels fortunate to work in such a wonderful, family-friendly environment. Rachel enjoys getting to know each patient and tries to help them feel at ease during each visit. It is her goal to give each one a fun and positive dental experience. Most of all, Rachel loves the fact that, as a dental professional, she can help make a difference in the improvement of oral hygiene and overall health of our patients.
Rachel has a dog named Maximus Pugsley and loves spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys going to the beach, movies, the gym, and is the Vice President of Community Outreach Circle of Friends.
Jennifer
Certified Dental Assistant
Jennifer started working at our office in1998 at the beginning of her junior year of high school. However, she first started as a patient at the office in 1985 and has known Dr. Demetriou all of her life. Jennifer is at the side of our patients she helps to put them at ease and have a pleasant experience while they’re in our office. She enjoys helping to alleviate the fears of apprehensive patients and wants to make them realize that a trip to the dentist can actually be fun!
Jennifer has a handsome pug named Gus and rescued a black and white cat named Lucy. In her free time she enjoys playing golf, going to the movies, reading, traveling, and spending time on Lake Ossipee with her family and friends.
Jenn
Financial Administrative Assistant
Jenn began with the office in 1999 as our patient greeter while she was still in high school and became our financial administrative assistant after graduation. She attended college while still working at the office and earned an Associate’s degree in Business Administration. Since 2000, she has been in charge of scheduling appointments, communicating with insurance companies to determine benefits, and preparing treatment plans. She is available to answer any questions our patients or parents have, whether in office or over the phone.
Jenn and her husband, Derek, were married in 2008 and recently bought their first home. In her free time she enjoys cooking, spending time at home with her husband, and in the summer she grabs any chance she gets to go to the beach. She is also the treasurer of a non-profit organization, Community Outreach Circle of Friends, Inc.
Kelly
Registered Dental Hygienist
Kelly is responsible for patient education, medical history review, scaling, polishing, fluoride treatments, and radiographs. She loves working with children because they say and do the cutest things. For Kelly, she finds it important to make her patients feel comfortable and confident in what she is doing. She always tries to make visits as fun as possible, by showing her patients all of the dental instruments she will use and explains why in terms they can understand. She finds this often puts her patients at ease. Kelly began working with us in 2011, and she says she just loves the family atmosphere and how kid friendly the office is. Between the games and books in the reception area, movies playing in treatment rooms, or the prizes at the end of visits she is sure there is something for everyone to enjoy here.
Kelly enjoys cooking, traveling, going to the beach, and spending time with her family and boyfriend. The staff was also very excited & appreciative to find out Kelly is an amazing baker, as she has brought in many delicious treats for us! Kelly also adores her pet cat, Snowy.
